Can AI assistants send documents for signature?

Yes, the BoldSign MCP server lets AI assistants send documents from your BoldSign templates, check their status, and send reminders. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients, and your signers get a normal BoldSign request to sign.

Data and privacy

Is your document data used to train AI models?

No, BoldSign does not use your documents to train AI. Field detection runs on Google Gemini with zero data retention, so the model does not keep your documents. BoldSign encrypts every document twice with AES-256. Its security controls are independently audited for SOC 2 Type 2, as your account’s Compliance page shows below.

BoldSign uses AI to send, find, and prepare documents. It does not draft or review contract terms, and AI never signs a document for anyone.

Does AI sign documents for you?

No. In BoldSign, AI sends, finds, and prepares documents, but every signer opens their own signing link and signs it themselves. Each signature is recorded in the document’s audit trail.

Which AI assistants work with BoldSign?

Claude, ChatGPT, and other assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Claude Desktop connects through a custom connector; Claude on the web and ChatGPT need a BoldSign OAuth application in your account’s region.

Do signers need anything new to sign a document an assistant sent?

No. They get the same BoldSign email and signing link as any other request, and they sign without a BoldSign account.

Are documents sent from an AI assistant legally binding?

Yes. They are signed the same way as any other BoldSign document. BoldSign complies with the ESIGN Act, UETA, and eIDAS, so its signatures are secure and legally binding.

How does AI improve eSignature workflows?
