Data Residency and Regional Compliance

We make every effort to design our services in line with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and similar regional requirements. However, data protection compliance requires professional judgment, and regulations evolve over time. Customers should apply their own legal and compliance review when using our services. Our Terms and Conditions govern the scope of our obligations, including any limitations of liability and indemnification provisions.

Data Residency

Choose where to store your data in the US, Canada, Australia, or the EU.

We operate multiple data centers to meet regional compliance and performance needs. Customers can select where their data is stored and processed, ensuring alignment with local regulations.

Please note that once selected, your data storage location can’t be changed. The only way to switch it is by creating a new account.

    • Regional Data Handling

    • Storage and processing servers are completely separated for the US, Europe, Canada, and Australia.
    • AI Processing Residency
      • AI processing is region-specific. Europe has a dedicated AI environment, while other regions (US, Canada, and Australia) are processed through the US AI data center.
    • Email Data Residency
      • Email delivery is region-specific. EU emails remain within the EU, while emails for other regions (US, Canada, and Australia) are processed in the US.
      • Email Delivery: Email handling is regional. Emails sent from EU accounts remain in the EU, while those from US, Canada, and Australia accounts are processed in the US. This means that we cannot control if someone from outside the EU sends EU data. The customer would be fully responsible.

    Data Storage Policy

    Stored only in your chosen region (US, EU, AU, or CA):

    • Documents and templates
    • Audit trails
    • Team and workspace data (excluding billing details)
    • Signer information
    • Contract-related data
    • Transactional and analytical information related to your account

    Stored in the US only (regardless of selected region):

    • Organization metadata (e.g., subscription details, billing information)
    • ID verification data (processed and stored in the US by Stripe – For more information, refer to the Stripe Privacy Center or Stripe ID Verification Information)
    • Data processed through integrations and third-party services you choose to enable. Residency for these services depends on the specific provider .
