Sending Electronic Signature Requests from Your Domain

Send eSignature requests from your custom email domain

Maintaining trust is crucial in today’s digital environment, particularly when it comes to business agreements and transactions. Even though electronic signatures have made operations more efficient, there are a lot of bad actors in the digital world. Ensuring every step of an agreement process is branded, reassures partners and clients that your correspondence and signature requests are legitimate. Using your own domain to transmit requests for electronic signatures is one way to accomplish this. We’ll discuss the importance of custom domains in this blog post and offer a step-by-step tutorial on how to set one up in BoldSign.

Understanding Custom Domains

With a custom domain, you can use your own domain name rather than the generic BoldSign one that is assigned by default. This minor adjustment can have a big impact on how your recipients view your correspondence. By incorporating your domain into signature documents and emails, you reinforce your brand identity and legitimacy.

Configuring Custom Domains in BoldSign

BoldSign’s custom domain setup is a simple procedure, but it’s only available with the paid plans. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  • Under Settings, select Business Profile, and then scroll down to the Custom Domain Settings

  • Enter the From Name and Domain Name as instructed, and you will see the message “Not Verified” next to the box.
  • After entering the required information, click Save Changes. At this point, your domain status will remain unverified.
  • To initiate the verification process, create a “support ticket” by clicking on the designated link below the domain name option.

  • Once the support ticket is created, our team will proceed with validating the domain on our end. We will generate the necessary configuration settings, such as the DKIM and Return-Path, and send them to you.

  • Add the provided keys to your DNS records. Let us know in the support ticket when this step is completed. Then, we’ll activate the domain on our end.
  • Upon successful verification, your domain status will be updated to Verified. Additionally, we’ll notify you through the support ticket that the verification process is complete.

Leveraging the Benefits

Once your domain is verified, BoldSign will utilize it for all transactional emails, enhancing brand consistency and credibility. Here are some key benefits of sending electronic signature requests from your domain:

Professionalism: Company-branded email domains are the hallmark of professional businesses. Project professionalism with yours.

Legitimacy: Send documents from a familiar domain to your partners or clients to set their minds at ease about the trustworthiness of your requests.

Consistency: Ensure consistency across all communication by aligning signature requests with your domain.

Conclusion

Adding a custom domain to your electronic signature process is a smart way to enhance your brand’s visibility and legitimize your communications. You can easily configure your own email domain within BoldSign by following the previously described procedures.
